In order to carry out my GAME plan, I will need to have digital recording equipment, computers, and possibly a projector. I will also need to create a wiki and a blog for our class with the collaboration of the class itself. Down the road, I hope to be able to extend our recordings to iPods and cell phones, but, let’s not get carried away!! I need to focus on the immediate use of the recordings!
I will also need to promote support from parents, administrators, and colleagues. I need to search the internet to find new and exciting ideas for students to use in their video activities. I would also like to find a teacher who uses blogs and wikis in my area so I could observe the ways in which they have been used.
As of yet, I have not taken any steps towards my plan. I have been searching for a job, doing homework, and packing to go to Miami to see my youngest daughter, whom I have not seen in a year.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you when you say that you will need support from parents, administrators, and colleagues. Support from influential groups like this can lead to great things within the classroom. When trying new idea/strategies, I am always hesitant because of the outcome. Will it succeed or fail? However, when you get support from people around you, you are more inclined to try new things.
Hi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteSounds like ground zero! You're off to a great start. I know that when I started, the Library had 3 projectors for the entire building. 2 teachers knew how to use them. I became the third. They never saw that projector again! When administrators and parents see you doing cool and inspirational stuff they will get behind you full force. Good luck.

Lynn,
ReplyDeleteFirst, have fun visiting your daughter and have fun in Miami! It sounds like you will have a wonderful time!!
Our posts are very similar. We both need the equipment and ways to observe other teachers! I posted in my blog that I believe observation is the best way for me to learn about new technology and how to seamlessly integrate it into the classroom!
However, I didn't mention the importance of support from parents, administrators, and colleagues. What a great point! This is where I fail. Technology doesn't seem important to these groups in our school community!
Good Luck!
